If you could take a classic sports car and improve it in every single way possible, with more power, better handling, superior braking and reliability, whilst retaining all the charm and character of the original....

Why wouldn’t you?
— KEVIN O'ROURKE - Moto Technique Limited

Bespoke and Unique

Some of the most beautiful and original sports cars ever produced from the 1950’ 60’s and 70’s are now getting on a bit. Their beauty and originality can never be questioned, but technology has moved on over the past few decades since they were first designed and built.

Things like engine management and power output along with modern handling and braking capabilities can now be applied to these iconic cars, bringing them up to modern day standards of safety and reliability…. and while you’re at it, why not add some creature comforts, like air conditioning, power steering, iPhone and Bluetooth connectivity etc.

With over 40 years experience in restoring, repairing and servicing classic sports cars such the Dino 246 and Ferrari 308 V8 series, Moto Technique can genuinely claim to know these cars inside out and back to front. We know their strengths and weaknesses and how they can be updated and improved to meet the specifications that our clients are now demanding.

We can claim to have probably restored more Dino 246’s than anyone else in the UK to concours condition and including to Ferrari Classiche standards when requested.

Moto Technique is a customer driven business and what has become apparent to us over the past few years is that people love old classic sports cars such as the Dino’s and 308’s, but they no longer want just a standard concours ground up restoration, they now wish to add modern day standards of power, handling and reliability plus all the creature comforts.

If you can imagine it we can build it.

Analogue & Organic

A Moto Technique restomod is not about numbers and statistics, banishing figures around like 0-60, Top Speed and BHP output tells you nothing about our upgrades. Instead it’s about feel, feedback and balance, and not having modern driver aids that take away from the analogue sensation of our cars. These are cars that have to be driven and when they are driven to their potential they reward all the bodies sensations in a away that modern supercars seem to have forgotten how to do.

This service is not just about having a more powerful engine, bigger and better brakes and adjustable suspension plus all the other improvements, but its about how this whole package has been developed so that all the components work together in perfect harmony.

You feel the grip of our cars through the seat of your pants and through the steering wheel which feedback every little detail. As you depress the accelerator, every millimetre of travel thrusts you forward in a way that you always feel connected and in control. The sound of the upgraded Ferrari V8 engine behind you mated to the custom Capristo exhaust system is a crescendo of sound that gives you goose pimples like a 60 piece classical orchestra. And when you hear our engines crackle on a down shift overrun, its not a a computer doing it artificially (Like so many modern cars), It’s REAL!!

Add to all this package the customisable fit and finish of every detail, from the best interior trim to the best paint finish in the business and what you end up with is a bespoke car with a classic look and feel but with modern manners.

The beauty of our restomods is how all the individual components have been developed to work in perfect harmony and deliver the ultimate driving experience
— KEVIN O'ROURKE - Moto Technique

A Moto Technique restomod begins with a donor car of the clients choice, this can either be supplied by the client or Moto Technique can source one on their behalf.

The donor car is then assessed for condition and we work closely with the client and consult them on the specification that they have requested, engine, gearbox, braking, suspension, colour, wheels interior etc.

The starting point for any Moto Technique Restomod is a donor car, in this case it is a Dino 246 GTS, The Dino has been carefully stripped to a bare shell. The shell will be checked on our state-of-the-art jig and re-aligned to original factory spec…

The shell will be checked on our state-of-the-art jig and re-aligned to original factory spec if required. A trial fitting of the chosen engine will take place at this stage (in this instance it is a Ferrari 3.6 Litre Stage 1 engine). Chosen styling features such as period correct “Flares” wheel arches will be added at this stage if that is what the client has chosen.
