Due to the historical significance and the need to preserve this car for the enjoyment of future generations the decision was taken to remove the outer body work .

The removal of the bodywork was invaluable giving us the opportunity to make an informed judgment from which to treat any localised corrosion of the alloy body panels, a bonus was unrestricted access which aided repairs. More importantly we are able to prepare and paint all the inner sufaces of bodywork and chassis using the latest developments in anti corrosion treatment, this will ensure that this car will be in fantastic condition long after we are but a distant memory.

After being examined and digitally measured the Chassis and superstructure proved to be in fine fettle , no further action was required other than to strip off existing paint work and underseal, prepare and repaint.

Gas welding of replacement section using Oxy Acetylene gas.	Hand planishing of weld in order to level and work harden welded area.
